Due to severe and ongoing drought conditions, Mount Rainier National Park is experiencing critically limited water availability. Water conservation is essential to help maintain park operations and ensure adequate resources for employees and visitors.

All guests are asked to reduce water use throughout their stay and use available water responsibly.

How Guests Can Help Conserve Water

Please help protect this limited resource by following these water conservation guidelines:

  • Bring large water containers or gallon jugs to meet your drinking water needs.
  • Report leaking faucets, running toilets, or any water system issues to staff immediately.
  • Reuse towels and washcloths whenever possible.
  • Limit showers to five minutes or less.
  • Turn off water while brushing your teeth or shaving.
  • Encourage everyone in your group, including children, to conserve water.
