Meet our Executive Chef

AJ (Anthony Joseph) Atkins

AJ joined Rainier Guest Services during the summer of 2023 as a Sous Chef. He has been a chef since he was 15 years old and has worked as a chef all over the world in high volume Resorts, Casinos and other locations refining his skills in worldly cuisine. He graduated from the Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School. He speaks 7 languages. He is the oldest of 19 siblings (15 are sisters). In his free time he enjoys baking, creating recipes, singing, hiking, traveling & trying new things.

His menus for the 2024 season are sure to bring the Pacific Northwest cuisine at Mount Rainer to new heights! He has taken dishes like Pacific Northwest Steelhead Salmon and Prime Rib and infused them his own Hawaiian fusion flare to place a unique spin on these traditional dishes.  He has crafted some amazing new specials, appetizers and and decadent desserts to delight the young and old.     The savory gluten free and Vegan/Vegetarian dishes are bursting with Pacific Northwest flavors that are  sure to delight the pallet.  With all of this creative cuisine  there is something for everyone on these new menus.
